Hi, I’m Sunae Reilly

Avid reader, bookish content creator, sensitivity and beta reader and aspiring writer.

My love of stories, and of storytelling started young. I was an early reader, shocking my mum when I started to read at 4 years old. Ever since then, I’ve had my nose permanently buried in a book. Childhood favourites were The Chronicles of Narnia, Lemony Snickett’s A Series of Unfortunate Events and the Deltora Quest books by Emily Rodda. Mum used to joke that I singlehandedly kept our small town library’s staff in a job.

I read diversely, enjoying a variety of genres from contemporary romance to literary fiction, but fantasy and science-fiction will forever be my favourite genres to read and write. When I’m not reading, I’m writing. Or filming for my podcast and YouTube channel where I review books.

I pride myself on thoughtful critiquing of the books I read and have enjoyed sharing my critiques on my Instagram and TikTok pages over the last couple of years. More recently, I’ve found that long-form content better suits my style of in-depth reviewing, and have started sharing my reviews on YouTube and in Podcast form.

I started alpha, beta and sensitivity reading in 2024, and recently sensitivity read for Kara Reynolds during the writing process of Pilgrimess, the second book in her Gods of Tintar series.

In sensitivity reading, I am fully committed to helping authors ensure accurate and sensitive storytelling, while keeping true to their unique voice as an author.

As a Registered Midwife with a Bachelor of Midwifery and Graduate Diploma of Primary Maternity Care and 9 years of experience, I can ensure the accuracy of any pregnancy, birth or miscarriage related information and scenes in your book.

My lived experience as a woman with autism and ADHD, and chronic illness (hEDS, POTS, fibromyalgia, MCAS) is what I draw upon to sensitivity read scenes or characters who are neurodivergent or chronically ill.

I am currently completing a Master of Arts (Creative Writing) at Curtin University, and am hoping to move into the publishing industry when I complete my degree. I draw upon the knowledge I am gaining in this degree during my beta reads to ensure that feedback is detailed and professional.
